Dear Greats/ Stephanie
I just had to write to explain why Stephanie deserves congratulations and 5*

• I had an invite to a fancy dress code 50th birthday party at Claridges in London ..Raj style.. and intended to go as an 18th century diplomat. I mentioned this to Stephanie when she was cutting my hair a week ago and she said:
o “Do you know what you want?”
o “No?”
o “Bring me in some pictures and I’ll have a think”
• So, courtesy of Wikipedia’s 18/19th century fashion pictures, Stephanie had a think and on Saturday
o She took my shoulder length layered blonde hair and
o turned it into an 18th century gents formal court hairdo. complete with
 curly ponytail from the top and back and
 three “horizontal barrel curls” on each side
o and made it “bombproof” with spray so it
 made it completely intact to Claridges,
 set my costume (tails, 18th century neckcloth(forerunner of bow tie and so on) off perfectly and
 caused great entertainment and interest- particularly in the debate about whether I was wearing a perfect and very expensive wig or was it my own hair, and “but you couldn’t get something that complex done in an ordinary hair salon”
So,many congratulations to Great Hairdressing and Stephanie – You clearly are not “just an ordinary salon!”

Anyhow- Many Thanks and Very Well Done

Let us colour your world

Even as a hairdresser, walking into a chemist and choosing a hair colour is mind boggling…(unless you are the model on the front of the box)

Hair colour comes in many guises.
Along with the more ‘well known’ services such as root regrowth and highlights, you will find more natural, tone on tone colours which are perfect for those of you that want ‘colour without commitment’.
GLOSSING is one of these services. Permanent colour, as a rule, will penetrate into the centre of your hair and stay there. With a GLOSSING, we use a different catalyst, which allows the colour molecules to rest on the outside of the hair. This means you can decide on the intensity of the tone. You might want a GLOSSING purely to refresh an existing colour. Even on your natural hair, GLOSSING will give a colourless sheen, which can last up to 12 shampoos.
Although GLOSSING is not designed to colour grey hair, you will get a slight blending effect, ideal for you colour shy fashionistas out there!!

TONERS are also a colour service not many people know about.
If you have ever experienced highlights that have not quite been the colour you desired, then a TONER is the one for you. We use TONERS on pre-lightened hair to counteract unwanted tones.
EG. If your highlights appear to ‘golden’ or ‘yellowish’ we will apply a platinum/violet based TONER. This will give your hair a more neutral effect.

STOP THE PRESS…STOP THE PRESS…STOP THE PRESS…STOP THE PRESS
Brand new to the market is Paul Mitchell’s PLATINUM BLONDE shampoo. This shampoo is actually purple in colour, but don’t be put off…it gently removes unwanted gold tones and leaves a beautiful beige/creamy tone behind. Ideal to spruce up and refresh old highlights or even on a weekly basis, use it to maintain the colour your stylist achieves in the salon.

WHICHEVER colour you go for, it is a huge investment from you with your time, and your money. Therefore it is really important to use quality ‘COLOUR Care’ products as advised by your stylists.
Colour Care products have lots of benefits
•	Low ph, which allows a gentle wash.
•	High quality ingredients
•	Concentrated formula, will last longer
•	Low lather content, again to pro long the life of your colour
•	UV filters and protection against ‘free radicals’

Answer this question…would you buy a £150 jacket from your favourite store and wash it with Daz????
Thought not!

Last minute party plans, last minute diner dates, all catered for with fabulous hair. The party season is all about fun, having gorgeous hair is part of your wardrobe, but sometmes your hair can let you down. So here are our top three tips for GREAT hair whatever the occasion.
Â
Tip one:
Talk to your stylist. Sounds obvious, but this is most important. They can advice you on how to get your hair ready quickly for that all important evening, not only that but they love to do it. They can advice you on dry styling, products and accessories.
Tip two:
Let GREAT hairdressing get you ready in 30 mins. Take advantage of the blow dry bar and for £20 we will have you looking gorgeous and glamourous.
Tip three:
Dont forget to pack in your handbag that all import Freeze and Shine or Spray Wax to give your hair a lift halfway through the evening.
Tip four:
If you have invested time and money in a GREAT colour this Christmas look after your hair the way we would…only shampoo your hair once…always use Colour Protect products like Paul Mitchell Color Protect Daily shampoo &Â conditioner and TIGI Colour Savvy products
Tip five:
When you come to GREAT Hairdressing to have your hair ‘put up’, whatever the occasion, take our advice and do not shampoo your hair before coming. If your hair is a day or two since its last shampoo, don’t worry, it will hold its ‘up style’ much better.
Tip six:
Regardless of what service you are having, always ask your Hair Designer to show you some pictures. The images you choose will really ensure that you and your Designer are on the same ‘wavelength’ which means you will get the haircut/colour you really want!
Tip Seven:
GHD curls are again, very popular this party season. Get the most out of them by following in the footsteps of your grandma! Yep, thats right, wearing a hairnet in bed will maintain the curls and waves through the night.
Tip Eight:
If after that GREAT haircut, you are struggling to achieve the same look at home with your hairdryer, then work your dryer like the professionals. Always use a nozzle, dry your roots first before the ends and finally blast your hair with a cold finish to ‘set’ your blowdry.
Tip Nine:
Guys, You have listened to your Hair Designer’s advice and you have bought TIGI Manipulator or Paul Mitchell Wax Works but do you manage to recreate the look at home? To help with achieving the same effect, always place the product right through your hair, roots to tips before actually pulling your hair into shape.
Tip Ten :
Understand the life cycle of your haircut. Don’t wait until it has completely grown out. Your hair is a living thing and will not stay looking this good forever! Book your next appointment before you leave the salon. This will enable you to maintain the same GREAT haircut consistently.
